Porcelain bowl from NZ artist Jo Luping featuring a Pohutukawa lace design in red and white. The Pohutukawa tree is known as the New Zealand Christmas tree due to i's bright red flowers. In 1990 it was endangered with 90% of coastal pohutukawa stands gone. However thanks to the work of DOC and Project Crimson more than 300,000 native trees have been planted, saving these magnificent trees. Unfortunatley they are still not safe and continue to need our help to protect them.
